CAMPBELL KNEALE EXHIBITION, ESCVELOCITY

I missed the Opening Night of Campbell Kneale’s Exhibition of “What I Do Is Secret”. It’s the second showcase at ESCVELOCITY’s Featherston Gallery and if the first was anything to go by, there would have been another big crowd in attendance to support community and local art.

When I visited the following week the gallery was void of visitors. Sometimes I really like to take in art like this, by myself, but I also miss the human interaction and watching how people explore and connect to art and one another. I miss documenting that play of space and occupancy. Even so, I still got to enjoy this beautiful abstract work; the fantastic thick textures, line, contrast and personality that perfectly complimented the industrial exposed floor and ceiling. It really did look amazing – even when empty. And hopefully one day I’ll have the opportunity to meet the artist in person.
